Pakistan beat England by 87 runs in the second match of the ODI tri-series at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.

Batting first, Pakistan scored 302 for nine in their 50 overs. England were then bowled out for 215 in 38.4 overs.

Arafat Minhas was the star of the match. He scored 59 runs from 58 balls, hitting nine fours. He then took six wickets for 40 runs, the best bowling figures of his career.

Minhas was named player of the match. He is only the third Pakistani, after Shahid Afridi and Abdul Razzaq, to score a fifty and take five wickets in the same ODI.

Pakistan had a poor start. Fakhar Zaman was out on the first ball of the match, and the team was struggling at 133 for five.

Hasan Nawaz led the fightback with 79 runs from 74 balls. Minhas supported him well, and Faheem Ashraf added a quick 39 from 26 balls at the end.

For England, Sonny Baker took three wickets for 65 runs.

England began their chase well. Tom Banton scored 57 and Ben Duckett made 45 in an opening stand of 91 runs.

But Minhas then destroyed the middle order with his left-arm spin. England lost their last seven wickets for only 50 runs.

It was Pakistan’s second straight win in the tri-series, after their victory over Sri Lanka in the opening match.
