Coventry City are finally finding their feet in the Premier League. They beat Newcastle United 4-1 on Monday night. It was their first home win in the top flight for 25 years.

An early penalty was followed by three fine goals. The Coventry Building Society Arena erupted as the final whistle blew. It was their second win in a row after a tough start.

Lampard’s Belief Pays Off

Manager Frank Lampard praised his players after the match. He said the team played with spirit and energy. He added that the squad knows it must keep working hard this season.

Coventry had lost their first four games of the season. A 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest before the international break changed the mood. Now back-to-back wins have lifted them up the table.

Newcastle Left Searching

For Newcastle, it was a night to forget. They missed chances and looked weak at the back. Their manager apologised to the travelling fans after the match.

Coventry now travel to Tottenham with fresh hope. After 25 years away, the Sky Blues are starting to enjoy life back in the big time.

The goals were spread across the team. An early penalty settled the nerves. Then three well-taken goals sealed a famous night for the home fans.

Lampard said there is much more his side can achieve this season. He wants the players to stay grounded. The next test comes away at Tottenham, where another win would be a huge statement.

The win lifts Coventry further away from the relegation zone. After four straight defeats, few gave them hope. Now the Sky Blues believe they belong at this level.
