Liverpool beat Brighton 2-0 at Anfield on Sunday 25 October, with a Pascal Gross own goal and an Alexander Isak strike sealing a fourth straight win in all competitions.
Gross turned Florian Wirtz’s shot into his own net in the 17th minute to give Liverpool the lead. Isak doubled the advantage in the 21st minute, finishing calmly to put the hosts in control.
Brighton, who had won their previous four league matches, could not find a way back. The defeat leaves them third on 16 points, one point ahead of Liverpool, who climb to fourth on 15 points.
It was Liverpool’s first home league win of the season and a fourth consecutive victory in all competitions.
