Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has inaugurated the Daanish IT Park in Islamabad. The opening took place on 10 October 2026. It is Pakistan’s first IT park under the Daanish name, which is known for its schools.
The park is designed as a single integrated facility. It will host incubation centres, innovation hubs, start-ups and small firms side by side. The goal is to connect students and teachers directly with the companies that may one day hire them.
The park brings start-ups, small companies, universities and students under one roof. The prime minister said it will help young Pakistanis learn modern skills and turn ideas into businesses.

Record IT exports
The opening comes as Pakistan’s IT exports hit a record 4.6 billion US dollars in the 2025-26 financial year. The project cost 92.7 million dollars, with most of the money coming as a loan from South Korea.
The park will be run by a company chosen through open bidding, not directly by the government. Local and foreign firms working in IT and artificial intelligence will be invited to bid.
Plans for the future
The government plans to take the Daanish IT Park model to Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Officials said 50 private buildings have already been upgraded into software technology parks across the country.
Industry leaders welcomed the record exports but warned that steady policies, better internet and reliable power are needed to keep the growth going.
