The government has cut fuel prices again. Petrol is cheaper by Rs5.16 per litre from today.
Petrol now costs Rs381.14 per litre. It was Rs386.30 before the cut.
High-speed diesel has gone down by Rs7.69 per litre. Its new price is Rs389.27, down from Rs396.96.
The Petroleum Division announced the new rates. OGRA set the prices under the government’s pricing system.
Pakistan now fixes fuel prices every day. The rates are based on the average of world market prices over the past seven days.
The latest cuts follow a fall in world oil prices over the last week. Diesel saw the bigger drop this time.
Diesel runs trucks, buses and tractors. Cheaper diesel can help bring down transport costs, and it may ease prices of food and daily goods.
Petrol is mostly used in cars and motorbikes. The cut gives some relief to daily travellers.
Even after this cut, fuel is still costly. Prices rose sharply after the war began in February, when petrol crossed Rs458 per litre at its peak.
